A Wellington K.K. Chan Distinguished Speaker Series event featuring Pooja Pant and Bikkil Sthapit from Voices of Women Media.
The lecture will be hosted by the Media Arts and Culture and Asian Studies departments as well as feature 3 Occidental students who were on exchange to Kathmandu, Nepal who were conducting research alongside during the Faculty-Led Richter Project to Nepal in Summer 2024. During this research project, Dr. Vivian Wenli Lin led the team in a participatory video workshop in collaboration with Techno Hub, a Voices of Women Media initiative to train teenage girls in local schools media skills and literacy. During the three-week workshop, 13 videos were creating highlighting key issues of what it means to be a young woman in Nepal.
