Interfaith America has submitted its final report, which outlines the major themes from the listening sessions, reflects feedback from the community, and provides recommendations for how our community can better engage and collaborate.

Dear Occidental Community,

As co-chairs of the Task Force on Promoting Community and Safety, we would like to again thank everyone who participated in our collaborative project with Interfaith America this semester, both during the January listening sessions and in the follow-up conversations that occurred over the subsequent months.

Your contributions have been invaluable towards capturing diverse perspectives about the nature and tone of discourse on campus and will help the College shape its plans for building community going forward.

Interfaith America has submitted its final report, which outlines the major themes that emerged during the listening sessions, reflects feedback from the community on the preliminary report, and provides recommendations for how our community can more effectively engage in difficult dialogues and collaborate across areas of difference. The is available for your review.

Over the coming months, and with guidance from the incoming president, the College will convene interested stakeholders to evaluate and prioritize these recommendations for implementation.

We hope you will take a look and stay engaged in this important work.

Sincerely,

Wendy F. Sternberg
Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College

Vivian Garay Santiago
Assistant Vice-President for Student Affairs and Associate Dean of Students
